NETWORK & SYSTEMS MANAGER

(Onsite)

Looking for a job? Look elsewhere.

Looking for something worth mastering — at a place where your judgment, your technical instincts, and your ability to communicate actually matter? Read on.

We're Laudisi — the people behind Smokingpipes.com, Peterson of Dublin, Cornell & Diehl, and a handful of other brands you've probably never heard of (but our customers are obsessed with). We run a complex, in-house technical environment that keeps operations humming across multiple facilities in South Carolina, a factory and an office in Dublin, Ireland, and a small remote office in Chongqing, China. We don't outsource our way out of problems. We own our systems, build our processes, and solve things ourselves.

That's where you come in.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO:

Own the day-to-day operation of Laudisi's local network infrastructure and end-user technology support across our Loris and Little River, SC facilities. This isn't a back-of-house role — you'll manage two IT support specialists, serve as the face of IT to the rest of the company, and build the documentation and processes that keep everything running reliably.

You'll also:

  • Manage multi-site network infrastructure — LANs, hardware, firewalls, wireless, and physical security systems across facilities in South Carolina and Ireland — and work on deeper architectural concerns with the Director of IT.
  • Manage the full user account lifecycle — provisioning, modification, and offboarding across Active Directory, Google Workspace, VPN, and the rest of the platform stack
  • Build and maintain the documentation — SOPs, runbooks, and technical records for every system in scope; this is an explicit ongoing priority, not a side task
  • Manage vendor relationships and external coordination — ISPs, hardware partners, third-party contractors

YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF:

You're the kind of person who can explain a firewall configuration to a warehouse manager and a network issue to someone who's never heard the word "VLAN" — and make both conversations feel productive.

You care about documentation. Not because someone told you to, but because you've seen what happens when nobody writes anything down, and you're not going to let that happen on your watch. When you inherit a system with no runbook, your first instinct is to write one.

You're comfortable being the person everyone calls when something's broken — and when nothing's broken, you're already thinking about what might break next. In a company full of non-technical people, your job isn't just to fix things. It's to make sure people trust that the technology works and that someone's on top of it.

YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Compensation and benefits: Competitive compensation; health, dental, and vision insurance; six paid holidays; generous PTO; 401(k) with 1:1 match up to 4% and no vesting period.
  • Perks: Casual dress, tuition reimbursement, referral bonuses, year-end bonuses, fresh fruit daily, paid luncheons, and regular company events.
  • Growth: A company that has grown every year for a quarter century tends to keep outgrowing what it has — and the people who've benefited most here are the ones who showed up with aptitude and judgment before a bigger role existed to put them in.
  • Culture: A passionate group of "Laudisians" who take their work seriously and like working with other people who do, too.
  • Reality check: We work around tobacco and smoke; many of us are enthusiasts. You'll often be in or near smoking areas, so you'll need to be comfortable with that.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 3–7 years of experience in IT operations or network administration
  • At least 1–2 years in a supervisory, lead, or team management role
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows environments — both desktop and server; Active Directory administration experience required
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace administration
  • Familiarity with multi-site or distributed networking environments
  • Comfortable working at the command line in a Windows environment — batch or PowerShell fluency expected. An aversion to the terminal is a disqualifier.
  • Excellent communication skills — genuine ability to work clearly and effectively with non-technical colleagues
  • Process-minded and inclined to document: you build SOPs because you want things to work, not because someone put it in your job description
  • Self-directed and reliable; able to manage priorities without close supervision
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar) helpful but not required — we value demonstrated ability over credentials

THE BOTTOM LINE:

This job isn't for someone who wants to sit quietly in a server room. It's for someone who's technically sharp, organizationally serious, and comfortable being the person everyone in the building turns to when something's wrong.

If you're reading this and thinking, “finally, somewhere that actually wants me to build something instead of just babysit a ticket queue” — apply below.

If you think infrastructure is basically a support function and the technology itself is just the backdrop — we're probably not the right fit.

But if you find this stuff genuinely interesting? We'd like to meet you.

We're building something here. Come build with us.
