ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Cornell & Diehl Pipe Tobacco Company — among the world’s leading manufacturers of boutique, hand-blended pipe tobacco — is searching for a passionate, experienced, and motivational manager to help grow and lead our team. In this role, the perfect candidate will quickly develop a thorough understanding of all the aspects of pipe tobacco manufacturing and utilize that knowledge to help our Director plan and execute production goals, improve efficiency, and lead our team across the factory.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Factory Manager of Cornell & Diehl, you will work directly with our Director to manage all day-to-day manufacturing operations and maximize the output potential of the factory. Among other tasks, your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing and coaching team members, planning and executing production goals, setting and maintaining schedules and timelines, creating and analyzing production reports, and identifying areas for improvement across the factory floor. Our ideal candidate possesses a strong background in manufacturing and boutique consumable goods — e.g. craft beer, coffee, etc — and understands the nuances of balancing a hands-on, small batch approach to production with scaling output.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Prior experience in management and manufacturing
- Proficiency in Excel and similar applications
- Superlative attention to detail
- Excellent active listening skills
- Strong capacity for problem solving and critical thinking
- Exceptional communication, both verbally and in writing
