A native of the potent and unforgettable small town of Georgetown in rural South Carolina, Daniel earned his BA in Theatre from the University of South Carolina, where he cultivated passions for directing plays and producing music. In the naive pursuit of artistic independence, he chased one of those dreams to Washington, DC, where he worked as an Assistant Director for several productions at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre, as well as a freelance director and sound designer. He draws from his experience in the realms of literature and history to describe a third of the over a thousand pipes that make it through our doors on a weekly basis, as well as writing and editing blog posts, newsletters, and all other forms of content that end up on our website. He continues to produce music for himself and others well into the wee hours of most mornings, usually accompanied by espresso over ice, a few smokes, and a pipe. Daniel has a fondness for Hip Hop and Future Bass, but will excitedly discuss most music and art related topics, preferably over coffee.
